There is no question that digital technologies are becoming more of a mainstay in the business world. However, there is still a need for physical product. Companies can keep themselves competitive when they are able to incorporate as many mediums as possible to promote their daily operations.

Additionally, when paper is used, it is important to keep all pieces properly organized and professional in appearance. Using binding equipment and supplies, along with custom folders will ensure that documents remain filed in the right place and are held together in a more durable fashion than just a simple staple.

Campaign pushes importance of paper through videos

One company that is using a combination of mediums to push customers toward using paper is Domtar Corp. Along with its already established PAPERbecause campaign – an advertising push that showcases the effectiveness and sustainability of paper – Domtar created several videos.

The short, 30-second spots are the third wave of videos in the campaign and bring humor to everyday situations while also showing how beneficial paper still is in a digital world.

For example, one video shows a disappointed wife on her wedding anniversary after her husband sends her an ecard rather than a personalized, handwritten note. Another one has a man attempting to install his brand new router at home, except that there are no directions. Just a downloadable PDF he cannot access because there is no internet.

Paige Goff, Domtar’s vice president of sustainable business and brand management, said in a press release that her organization wanted to use the PAPERbecause campaign to illustrate situations when paper is the most effective way to communicate.

“Our previous office videos reminded people how Domtar has long been a leader in sustainable paper production, but with the new videos, we wanted to focus on everyday life.”
